1923 and 1924 Class C State Champions

Under the guidance of Coach Russell Van Avery, the Bronchos downed Carson City 27-9 to win their second straight Class C state championship. Holly beat Milan 22-19 in the 1922 state championship game. The Bronchos’ bid for a third straight state title came to an end the following season, 1924, when they fell 12-9 to Reed City in the state finals. All three tournaments were played before the start of the Michigan High School Athletic Association tournaments, which began in 1925.
