2023 Female Athlete of the Year -- Delaney Jenkinson

Over the last four years, Delaney Jenkinson has left a lasting imprint on the softball program at Holly HS. Considering that her freshman year she did not have a chance to compete on the softball field due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this makes her career statistics that much more impressive. Delaney will end her career with multiple school records including home runs (career), home runs (season), hits (season), RBI (season), runs scored (season), and OBP (season). Delaney many softball accolades include all-state honors as a junior (and hopefully senior), three-time FML all-league honoree, 2022 all district and all region honoree, and two-time team captain. Delaney also had quite a bit of success as a freshman and sophomore on the volleyball court where she earned FML all-league honors both years.

Delaney also excelled in the classroom where she earned a 4.21 cumulative GPA over her four years at HHS while taking courses such as AP Biology, AP Calculus, Honors LA, AP Chemistry, AP US History and AP Government. Delaney has also found multiple opportunities to serve her community by running the annual school blood drives and assisting Blessings in a Backpack with their monthly food deliveries. Delaney is a very active member in the Holly Student Athlete Advisory Council and has been a primary leader in many of the different initiatives that this group has taken on over the past year. Overall, Delaney is an excellent representative of this award and the ideals that it promotes. We look forward to the many great things that she will accomplish as she moves on to the University of Akron in the fall to continue her academic and softball career as a Zip!!
