Grant’s parents Karen and Dave have joined us this morning.

FOOTBALL – Ryan Culloty Grant Tooley comes from a long line of outstanding athletes within his family. Playing in the shadows of a sibling's or, parent's reputation can be a tall task for anyone to overcome. In many ways, Grant has out shined them. As a senior Grant has become a 3-sport star. This past season on the football ball field Grant was a triple threat as well, excelling on offense, defense and most importantly as a team leader. A team's season often hinges not on its talent, but rather, how its leaders can bring the team together. Grant excelled at setting a standard of excellence that his teammates emulated and was the glue that brought everyone together. The true value of high school athletics is the ability to take away values and apply them to one's own life, Grant Tooley is a shining example of just that.

BASKETBALL – Lance Baylis Grant Tooley truly represents the definition of the term student-athlete. He is a student first, just like the term states. He carries a 4.0 GPA as he is about to graduate. He has maintained this while being a three-sport athlete. As a basketball player he was never absent, never late, never made excuses, and always went above and beyond to do whatever the team needed or whatever his teammates needed. He was a mentor to the younger athletes because they needed him to be. He was never asked - he just did what was needed. And when it ccame to competition or practice, he did the same. Grant Tooley is a true and sincere example of what a student-athlete is.

BASEBALL – Benny Jackson Grant is an incredible student athlete. The baseball program was lucky to have him for 4 years in the program. Grant is a Team first player, the individual stats mean nothing to him. I would take 15 Grant Tooley’s any day of the week and twice on Sunday. :) It was my pleasure to be able to coach him the last 2 years. He will be missed.
