In 2013 Eric began playing amateur golf and has amassed quite the playing resume in a few short years. He has won the Syron Memorial Tournament three times in 2013, 2015, and 2016, he finished runner up in the 2013 Michigan Mid-Am shooting 74-64, the 64 is the tournament course record at the Ross Memorial Course at Boyne Highlands. Eric remains involved with the golf programs here at Holly. He volunteers his time to work with players from the boys’ and girls’ teams and has served as a rules official for various tournaments that Holly has hosted. Eric and his Wife Cara also began giving back to the community in 2009 when they created the Growth of the Game Scholarship Foundation. Each year they award two graduating seniors from the golf programs at Holly with scholarships for continuing education. Many past winners have gone on to play golf in college or pursue golf as a career. To date, they have raised and awarded over $12,000!
