2009 Female Athlete of the Year

Sarah was a three-sport athlete and earned six varsity letters…two in each volleyball, basketball and softball. She was named State Bank/Tri-County “Athlete of the Week” during basketball season. She earned league honors in basketball and softball and was the team MVP in volleyball her senior year.

Sarah was named our Holly HS Athlete of the Year, as well as our nominee for the State Bank Athlete of the Year, not only because of her ability on the court or field…but because of who she is. Sarah was the heart and soul of her teams. When speaking with her coaches about Sarah, they had only high praises to sing.

Volleyball coach Superczynski stated “Sarah is not only an exceptional athlete but a remarkable person. Everything Sarah has received she has worked very hard for. She never takes “no” for an answer and lets nothing stand in her way of success. She was lauded as a strong leader in every sport she participates in and a role model for younger students.”

Basketball coach Dave Hall stated “Sarah is a kid that never makes excuses. She made good decisions to hang out with good people. She was always a very hard worker even if she wasn't a starter. I will always tell my teams stories about Sarah Cash”.

Softball coach Barry Bailey stated “Sarah has many admirable qualities including her strong work ethic, her energy and her commitment to the team. I think very highly of her and know that she will be very successful in life with anything she pursues. Next season I will miss her smiling face and witty humor."

Sarah had another staff member that is a fan of hers and wanted to chime in…

Dance coach and freshman class counselor Nicole Lusk stated “Sarah is a dedicated athlete who believes in giving her all to her team and her sport. She is the type of athlete that believes in conducting herself in a positive manner both on and off the playing court or field. She is an exceptional young lady who has earned the respect of her coaches and teachers."
