2006 Female Athlete of the Year

Courtney was a three-sport athlete each year and earned eleven varsity letters…four in basketball, three in volleyball and four in softball. Each of those eleven seasons, she was named State Bank/Tri-County “Athlete of the Week”. Courtney also exceed in the classroom where she maintained a 3.87 cumulative GPA and graduated in the top 10 of her class.

In basketball, Courtney earned team honors. As both a sophomore and a senior she was named Most Valuable Player. She earned all league honorable mention her junior and senior years.

Courtney was great volleyball player. She led the team from the setter position. Her junior year she set a school record of 40 assists in a single game…her senior year she broke that record with 42. Courtney was named second team all-league her junior year and honorable mention her senior year. She was MVP and team captain her junior year.

In the spring, Courtney could be found on the pitchers mound. She was a major factor when the Bronchos took the field. She was also a force to be reckoned with at the plate. Courtney was the captain of the team for two years. Currently, Courtney holds 16 school records in various hitting and pitching categories. Courtney was MVP her junior and senior years. Coach Bailey stated, “I’ve coached softball for 15 years. Courtney is one of my best athletes ever…both on and off the field”.

Additional awards and honors earned by Courtney include: MEAP merit award, Coca-Cola scholarship, and a design and engineering award.

Courtney was active in her church and in the youth group. As a member of In-Reach, she was involved in planning activities for the group.
