2005 Male Athlete of the Year

John was on the football, baseball and wrestling teams during his career at Holly. He earned six varsity letters…all while maintaining a 3.878 GPA.

Four of those six varsity letters came from the sport of wrestling. He earned many team honors, including the following during his senior year Most Heart, MVP, and Most Dedicated. In previous years, he won a Most Improved award and also the David Hatch Memorial award…this is given to the wrestler demonstrating not only wrestling ability but also leadership and academics.

John was also recognized in the area as well as across the state. He was named to the all district team three times, the all regional team three times, the all county team his senior year, and 1st team all conference. He led his team to district championship three of the four years and a regional title his senior year. John was a state qualifier his sophomore, junior and senior years. He was named a member of the all tournament team at four tournaments our team participates in the last two years.

John was a great example for our kids. He worked our Broncho FB camp and the Holly Rough Riders. He umpired youth baseball and works construction.
