Bill, a 1966 graduate of Holly High School, participated in football, basketball, and golf. He made all-conference in every sport. In 1966, Bill was the co-caption of the basketball team, leading scorer, leading rebounder, and he led this team to the MHSAA District Championship. Bill went on to Central Michigan University as a golfer and led the golf team to two league championships. He graduated from CMU and went on to teach and coach at Hartland High School. In 26 years as golf coach at Hartland HS, Bill’s teams won nine league championships, placed in the top six in the state tournament seven times and won the Class A State Championship in 1997. In his tenure at Hartland, Bill coached six all-state golfers and was named the Michigan High School Golf Coach of the year.
