After high school graduation, Artie earned a full-ride scholarship to play football at Bowling Green University in Ohio and was a four-year letter winner. He was a starter for three seasons and served as team captain his senior year. Artie is the only player in school history to win Chevrolet Player of the Game which he did against Ohio State when he had 21 tackles, 1 sack and 1 tackle for a loss. He led his team to two bowl wins, the California Bowl in 1991 and the Las Vegas Bowl in 1992. USA Today called him “one of the most versatile athletes in Division I.

--Lead team in tackles with 154 and was ranked 6th in the nation
