Larry earned four varsity letters in cross country and in track. Larry was named all-league twice. He earned two regional crowns and qualified for the state championships four times. Larry was the first Holly runner to win an individual state track championship. He won the Class B state championship in the 880 in 1967 at the University of Michigan Ferry Field with a time of 1:58.2. Larry attended college at Northern Michigan University.
